The Monheimer Wohnen team is delighted with the strong interest in the new homes in Monheim am Rhein.
In April and August 2024, the first apartments at Sophie-Scholl-Quartier will be ready for occupancy. Marketing activities have already begun for the first 162 residential units of the development. Thirty-two of these units – with up to three bedrooms – are subsidized housing, for which prospective tenants need to hold a social housing permit (“Wohnberechtigungsschein”). The other 130 apartments, with up to four bedrooms, were independently financed.
Future tenants will, once again, be chosen in a selection procedure covering several phases. In the process, Monheimer Wohnen attaches special importance to supporting families with children or people in urgent need of barrier-free living space. Preference will also be given to people who already live or work in Monheim am Rhein. Social hardship is another important selection factor; this will benefit, for example, people who have lost their home through no fault of their own and urgently need a new one, or women currently living in shelters. When reviewing a pregnant woman's application, the unborn child is counted as an individual family member.
Applications were accepted until August 31. All inquiries submitted will be considered equally in the selection process. Following the evaluation of all received interest forms, prospective tenants will be notified. It's important to note that reaching out through written or telephone communication will not expedite this process.
Currently, the apartments are being preliminarily allocated based on allocation criteria, and on this basis, initial non-binding offers are being sent out. Subsequently, the documents submitted by prospective tenants are initially reviewed. If the review is positive, the apartment is offered to the tenant on a binding basis. If it is negative, the next person in the ranking receives an initial non-binding rental offer. If the maximum desired rent of the prospective tenants is significantly below the housing offer, the affected prospective tenants cannot be considered.
If you had already applied for one of the apartments in the “Unter den Linden” project or in the French Quarter (Frankreichviertel) and are now interested in renting one of the apartments at Sophie-Scholl-Quartier, please note that you must re-apply via the form.
